Serving Those Who Serve
The Assistance League of Capistrano Valley (ALCV) hopes to alleviate the pressures unique to military families and in a small, but valuable, way contribute to troop readiness at Camp Pendelton. ALCV has been serving military families for the past 25 years. The original program was called “Chapters for Children” and started in year 2000. In 2025, the program was expanded, renamed, Serving Those Who Serve (STWS) and grounded in a partnership with the Armed Services YMCA. This partnership allows ALCV to leverage resources on the base and make sure our services reach the families with the greatest need.
What ALCV Does – ALCV provides children’s clothing, gift cards, pantry supplies and various supplies to the childcare center through its partnership with the ASYMCA.
Intended Result – Ease immediate household expenses and stress particularly for those families recently transferred to Camp Pendelton and increase the safety net around military families of deployed marines.
In the 2026-2027 service year, STWS allocated $35,000 to support 3 programs at the base. ALCV members also served directly at the Back-to-School Drive Up event.
