In fiscal year 2021/22, the Assistance League of Capistrano Valley awarded $56,300 in scholarships to 14 individuals ranging from $3,000-$5,600 per applicant.  Recipients include high school seniors of military families in the Capistrano Valley school district and young adults attending Saddleback College who are enrolled in the CalWORKS program and the nursing program. We kicked off our 17th year supporting families serving at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. We partnered with the Assistance League of Laguna Beach in providing diapers, wipes, beach towels, and books to 266 children. Watch this short video of the event ... Sales at our Bargain Box Thrift Store have been very strong this fiscal year. Along with the funds raised by our walkathon, we are able to significantly increase funding for our philanthropic programs. Budget for our Operation School Bell and Chapters for Children programs increased from $67,000 to $102,000. Additional $15,500 in grants to middle school teachers for a total of $45,000. Scholarship funding for high school senior recipients increased 150%. Funding for I.N.S.P.I.R.E. recipients increased 300%.

The Assistance League of Capistrano Valley is now included in Orange Country Nonprofit Central. OC Nonprofit Central is Orange County’s first-ever, fully searchable online database of local nonprofit organizations.
