Checks Presented to San Clemente & San Juan Hills High Schools Our "Igniting Potential" philanthropic program presented checks for $10,000 to San Juan Hills High School and $20,000 to San Clemente High School to help fund the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program. The AVID program is for all students with a priority to serve those determined to be 'in the middle,' often low income/first generation college bound, or without other supports.  AVID at San Clemente serves over 10% of the student population with a goal of increasing college acceptances, scholarship money, and helping students create a plan for their post-secondary years. The Impact on CUSD High Schools The funds granted by the "Igniting Potential" philanthropic program go towards vocational field trips, computers, school supplies, SAT exams, and additional staff training. Our members also contribute many hours of their time providing interview practice and resume writing advice. ALCV is proud to support the youth in our local community.
