High School Scholarships
This philanthropy grants scholarships to Capistrano Unified School District graduating seniors who are enrolled in the AVID program at San Clemente High School, and San Juan Hills High School for college and technical school entrance. Assistance League of Capistrano Valley is dedicated to empowering and supporting high school seniors in their pursuit of higher education.
Each scholarship is given directly to the student to help bridge the “affordability gap” highlighted by recent research regarding the rising cost of higher education. Recipients who participate in the ALCV follow-up survey after completing their first year of college are awarded a second stipend by the affiliated, We Believe in You program.
Since 2009, deserving high school seniors have received scholarships to attend college or technical school. The annual impact of this program is $15-45K.
Application Submission
Eligibility Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in AVID
- Student with Financial Need
- Weighted Total High school GPA – 2.5 or higher
- Application to be submitted on-line by due date (late applications will not be read)
- Proof of acceptance to a University, Community College or Career Technical Educational Institution
- High School Transcripts including 1st semester of Senior year
- Resume
- 2 Letters of Recommendation
- Personal Essay
- Signature page to be included with application
